Experience 18th and 19th century history through the events and lives of people associated with Belmont Mansion in Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, PA. Our house museum is dedicated to colonial history and the 19th century network of people and places known as the "underground railroad."
Built in the early eighteenth century, the Mansion is one of the finest examples of Palladian architecture in the United States. The Belmont Mansion property became part of Fairmount Park in 1869, and is now an underground railroad museum open to the public for tours.
Belmont Mansion To Be Featured On WHYY Channel 12 In Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, PA –– The WHYY Arts and Culture Experience segment featuring The Underground Railroad Museum at Belmont Mansion will air from February 1st – 15th, 2009 on Channel 12 in Philadelphia.
The story will start airing on the release dates – heavily for the first month, ongoing for the next five months and lighter for the remainder of the year.
At the first anniversary of the release, each spot can continue to be aired on an intermittent basis. In addition, each spot will be mounted and featured on whyy.org on the dates indicated above.
